Who n Why
Pray-er | Introvert | Follower of Christ | Grateful wife and mother | Learner
Mum Who Prays (MWP) is created by Irene Madapati (née Mallela), a learning enthusiast, a former IT professional, a former aged-care trainee, a former teaching assistant, and a current homeschooling SAHM (stay at home mum), a thankful one that is 🙂
Coming from the land of East with her childhood profoundly positively influenced by the tenets of Hinduism, along with a particular affinity towards certain aspects of Islam, and privileged to put down roots in the Western world which is built on the rich and solid foundation of Christianity; she is grateful for the exposure and has always been fascinated about various aspects of life and faith in the context of various cultures and traditions.
All content on Mum Who Prays pages is exclusively created and curated by her. She has been repeatedly shown that her work here must go on and so she presses on in faith, even though most of the time it can be discouraging… “for who believes what (s)he can see?”! 🙂

When n What
She’s a night owl!
Most of the work happens in the night, once my darling little humans and my amazing husband (whom she gratefully acknowledges that she doesn’t even deserve!) are soundly asleep.
Her work involves writing down learnings or reflections, penning down poems, singing, praying, creating artwork. Every project that has been worked on so far, has stemmed out of her earnest longing to glorify God and the deepest desire to minister unto others, especially mums.
Lately, she has prayerfully realised that unbeknownst to her, her work is seemingly stream lined into the categories of prints and meditations. She began to broadly and consciously bucket her past work in retrospection and future inspirations into one of the either – Pertinent Prints | Mellifluent Meditations. There’s also work that’s not tangible, that is done in secret, that does not seek self, that is offered willingly and joyfully… “for isn’t it better to lay up treasures in heaven where neither moth or rust destroys and neither thieves break in to steal?”! 🙂

It is not a matter of boasting but of grave responsibility, burden at times, to have the calling to pray for others and be sensitive to others needs. My ideal world would allow me to serve with all my heart and ability, with all the time, with all the money I got, using all the resources I have.
Alas I live in a real world filled with constraints on everything we have, time, money, duties etc. But that accentuates the beauty and joy of salvation… filling our lives with the fragrance of eternal hope. And so we/I press on in faithful obedience, using my talents to serve God, working to prayerfully create Christian art which is personal, deeply prayed upon with edifying exhortations, empathizing encouragements, ministering unto soul; even if it’s me on the receiving end.
My work is listed on my online store but for most part, thus far it’s been through word of mouth. It is strictly not for profit, and any proceeds are duly expended to allow me to keep my calling going… “for freely (I)you have received, freely give!”
